Vintage lounge chairs by Jitona, Czechoslovakia, 1970’s

A pair of lounge armchairs manufactured by Jitona Furniture Factory in Sobeslav, Czechoslovakia, in the 1970s. Made from polystyrene and upholstery foam, the armchairs are lightweight and comfortable despite their substantial size. The factory used the same materials and techniques as in the popular Atlantis furniture set. The armchairs have been reupholstered in new cream-coloured corduroy fabric. The metal legs, true to the original design, are coated in glossy black enamel.
