Traditional handmade margoum carpet in pure wool

The margoum or mergoum is a wool weave used as a floor mat whose origins are arab-berber. It is distinguished from the kilim by the regma, woven patterns that decorate it. The artisanal manufacture of margoum is a combination of traditional weaving and wool drawing. The craftsman prepares the wool and uses the loom and traditional tools; this craft, like many others, requires a lot of physical effort.
