Kokeshi doll set

Set of 4 Kokeshi dolls: a couple and two children. Created 150 years ago by the Kiji-Shi (wood craftsmen) in the Tohoku region (Northern Japan), they are carved, painted, decorated and varnished (cherry, pear, horned or maple). Toys intended for children, they are now offered, in the Japanese tradition, to declare one's friendship to the one who receives them. They transmit happiness, joy, and happiness.
