Large vintage Murano lamp - 1960s/70s - Space age - Design

Large table lamp of Italian origin, probably made in the late 1960s or early 1970s, attributed to Murano, combining a spectacular spherical diffuser with a metallic base featuring futuristic lines. The globe has a particularly interesting composition: its lower part offers a translucent white glass with an opaline effect, while the upper part is made of clear glass enriched with drips, drops, and reliefs of clear glass, worked directly into the material. The diffuser exhibits several typical characteristics of handcrafted blown glass: slight manufacturing irregularities are notably visible at the neck and foot of the globe. These variations testify to the artisanal nature of the piece and contribute to its decorative appeal. The globe is mounted on a tulip-shaped base in chrome metal, with clean and futuristic lines, particularly representative of the Space Age aesthetic of the period. The support system is secured by small side screws. The base, very lightweight, appears to be made of light metal, probably aluminium, with a chrome finish. Dimensions: Total height: 38 cm. Diameter of the globe: 20 cm. Diameter of the base: 20 cm. In very good overall condition for its age. The globe is in very good condition, with no apparent breakage. The chrome shows only a few possible superficial marks related to time and use.
