Portrait of a young man

Oil portrait on canvas dating from the early 20th century. It depicts an elegant young man with a piercing and direct gaze, dressed in a dark suit with a straight collar and a discreet mauve bow tie. The rendering of his expression and the texture of the materials demonstrate the artist's fine technical mastery. This work, rooted in history, bears a very legible period inscription in the upper right corner: "Albert Vivet 1904". The painting comes from the famous Breton corsair city of Saint-Malo.
