Danish mid-century modern freestanding executive desk designed by Erik Brouer – 1960s. A beautiful iconic Danish rosewood desk designed by Erik Brouer for Brouer and Co, dating from the mid-1960s. Rich grain patterns, clean lines and carefully considered details make this a striking example of Scandinavian mid-century design. The desk features two suspended drawer pedestals mounted beneath a wide rectangular tabletop giving the illusion that the storage units are floating. The drawers feature unique sculpted vertical recessed handles, providing generous storage. The drawers have keyholes, and a key is included. At the rear, an integrated open bookcase offers space for books and decorative objects. This attractive finished back makes the desk particularly suited to placement away from a wall, allowing it to be admired from every angle. In excellent vintage condition, with only minor age-related marks consistent with careful use. A beautifully crafted and highly practical piece for a home office or living space.
