Antique Damchiya - Carved Indian furniture

Indian sideboard carved in solid wood. The damchiya was the traditional chest containing the dowry that the indian bride took with her to live with her husband. It was made at the request of the bride's family, in anticipation of the wedding. Each piece is therefore unique! Traditionally these buffets are painted in bright colors. It was stripped, then bleached to give it a touch of modernity. It has a door. This is a vintage piece, second-hand, traces of use are present, which contributes to its uniqueness and charm.
