Old Berber craftsmanship salad bowl Kabylie Rif

This ancient Berber terracotta salad bowl is a handcrafted piece made using the traditional coiling technique. The object features a rich interior decoration filled with protective symbols, including Khamsas (hands of Fatima) and stylised fibulae, painted with natural mineral oxides. Its ancestral craftsmanship is confirmed by the carbon nuances visible on the reverse, signs of artisanal open-pit firing. The surface has been burnished with stone to achieve a satin sheen without the use of chemical varnish. Ideal for ethnic decoration or as a serving dish for dry foods. In very good condition with only slight signs of wear from time. Diameter of 23 cm and a height of 7 cm.
