Vase Pique-Fleurs in Stoneware from Vallauris by Fonck & Mateo - 1960

An elegant "flower holder" vase in glazed stoneware from the art of Vallauris, handmade by the famous ceramic masters Jacques Fonck and Jean Mateo in the 1960s/1970s. The object features a bulbous and sculptural shape, typical of Mid-Century Modern design. It is decorated with an iconic hand-engraved "eye" motif, which beautifully highlights the splendid satin glaze in shades of blue, purple, and anthracite grey. The upper part is designed with holes drilled to hold individual stems, making it perfect for minimalist floral arrangements or as a strong decorative element.
