Art Deco glass tray from the 1930s, produced by the Stolzle glassworks in former Czechoslovakia. Made of smooth, semi-transparent glass in a cool, light lilac-blue shade. Its square form is enriched with distinct, faceted cuts and reliefs, creating a dynamic, geometric interplay of light and shadow on the surface. The pronounced cuts on the sides and corners form a clearly three-dimensional shape. Slightly raised, smooth edges and the absence of handles or metal fittings emphasise the purity of the material and the focus on structural simplicity. The whole piece is an example of a functional everyday object with a strongly decorative character, typical of the glassware of the era. Condition is very good – no chips, scratches, discolouration or signs of repair; the texture and finish of the glass remain authentic and consistent with the original. The form of this tray speaks its own geometric language – fitting into the modernist optimism of the 1930s, where line and light are as important as colour. It can be used as a striking decorative display element in a living room, placed on a dark wood console to highlight the cool colour of the glass. It also works well as a tray for small items on a marble countertop or on a shelf with minimalist forms from the 1920s and 1930s – especially well paired with accompanying ceramics or a simple, nickel-plated bowl to enhance the Art Deco effect. Interiors in a modernist spirit or eclectic collector's arrangements will bring out its most timeless and sculptural character.
