This stoneware vase, signed Louis Dage, is distinguished by its magnificent blue and green "marbled" glazed decoration reminiscent of Impressionism. Gold band on the rim and three fine gold lines below the rim and just above the base. Signed L. Dage in gold. Louis Dage (1885-1961) is a major figure in Art Deco ceramics. This vase is attributed to the production carried out in Antony between 1922 and 1935. "Marbled" backgrounds are common in Louis Dage's work, but this vase with its blue-green effect and no superimposed floral decoration is extremely rare. Excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. Pick-up in Paris possible (to be discussed before purchase).
