Tonneau chair designed by Pierre Guariche in the late 1950s, produced by Steiner. The seat made of moulded plywood forms a curved shell with a distinctive lumbar opening, characteristic of the model. It rests on a tubular metal base finished in black lacquer. The original seat cushion enhances comfort while preserving the purity of the design. A key model in Pierre Guariche's work in the 1950s, it reflects his research on ergonomics, combining industrial techniques with soft organic lines. Manufacturer: Steiner, France, circa 1955. Bibliography: Steiner and the Adventure of Design, Patrick Favardin, Norma Editions, 2007, similar model pp. 54-55.
