This delightful Art Deco vase is a work by René Lalique (1860-1945). This bullet-shaped vase, called Bagatelle, is adorned with charming birds hidden among foliage, the decoration molded in deep relief. They are curious sparrows looking in different directions. It is a dreamlike vase with an adorable springtime theme. This Bagatelle model was designed on June 5, 1939, by René Lalique. It was a blown-molded and patinated white glass vase, continued after 1947 and resumed after 1951. This vase is unsigned—it shows traces of the mold seam and chips along the rim—it has not been polished. It measures 17.5 cm high x 10.5 cm in diameter. I note some minor scratches from use and a slight white deposit inside.
