Solid oak side table attributed to Gaston Poisson, 1960s. France. Gaston Poisson (1906–1971), French cabinetmaker and designer active between the 1930s and 1950s. Inspired by Art Deco, Poisson distinguished himself with furniture featuring understated geometric lines, combining functionality and refinement. He used fine woods such as oak and mahogany, often enhanced by meticulous finishing and highly architectural detailing. This table embodies his style: balanced proportions, sculpted legs, and timeless elegance. Solid oak coffee table attributed to Gaston Poisson, circa 1945–50, characterized by a sculptural central base with horizontal striations, typical of his work. The understated, structured design, the top with softened angles, and the satin finish are emblematic of his late Art Deco creations. Although unsigned, the quality of execution and architectural style allow an attribution to his workshop. An elegant and authentic piece for lovers of characterful French furniture.
