"Palmette" Art Deco Wall Light – Bronze signed Vasseur VH no. 5027 & Ezan Glass

Discover an exceptional piece, a true masterpiece from the Art Deco era. This wall sconce is the result of a rare and prestigious collaboration between the Ezan glassworks (Jean Gauthier) and the art bronzers Vasseur & Houdayer (VH), active in Paris during the 1920s-1930s. A Sculpture of Glass and Light: The opaline bowl made of pressed-moulded frosted crystal features a stylised feather in relief. To enhance this sculptural design, the reliefs and veins of the glass are gilded and have been meticulously restored with 22K gold leaf in our workshop, in strict adherence to the original gilding. The work on the frosted glass and the gilding captures the light, creating a warm glow and a unique refined translucency. A Signed Mount: The sconce rests on an original gilded bronze base. This piece of authenticity bears the foundry mark "VH" and the catalogue reference "5027", stamped into the material, attesting to its origin from Vasseur & Houdayer. Exceptional Condition: The sconce is in superb condition. The glasswork is intact, with no cracks or chips. The gilding on the glass has been restored to enhance its reliefs. The gilded bronze base has been cleaned without abrasion to preserve its period patina. Integration and Installation: This "High Decoration" collectible piece integrates perfectly into both classic and contemporary interiors.
