An Art Nouveau vodka glass cabaret from the early 20th century, produced in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is an example of utilitarian art from this period. The set consists of an elongated, geometric stand made of silver-plated brass. The eye is drawn to the slender form with a characteristic, simple handle and a diamond-shaped opening at the top. The stand holds six glasses, each placed in a separate, round socket; the glasses differ subtly from each other – most are decorated with cuts and engravings typical of the Art Nouveau period (diamond motifs, rosettes, fans), one glass is a replacement. The steel rods are joined to the base in a simple, utilitarian way, and the whole rests on four small, spherical feet. The patinated, matte surface of the metal shows clear signs of age, darkening, and tarnish, and regular wear emphasizes historical authenticity. Condition: the item shows signs of intensive use and patina, one of the glasses is a replacement – the whole is sold in a worn condition. This cabaret reflects the spirit of Art Nouveau from an era that was dynamically changing the face of Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century. Its geometric, restrained form tells of the transition from rich ornamentation to modern, discreet decoration. The worn surface, delicate differences in glass cuts, and subtle wear quietly speak of the life of a metropolitan salon – of meetings, toasts, and successive generations who used this service trinket. Such a set can be used as a separate accent on a classic tray, on a sideboard, or in a display case – it will emphasize the character of eclectic collector's interiors and salons arranged in the spirit of the belle époque or modernism. It is well combined with heavier porcelain, silver bar accessories, or pastel-toned glass. It will also work well in contemporary arrangements – on a minimalist countertop, it will be a delicate reference point, and combined with large-leaved plants or period lamps, it will create a noble composition with a historical pedigree. Technical information: Made of silver-plated brass, glass glasses decorated with cuts and engravings. Due to age and intensive use, there are visible darkenings, traces of patina, and glass discrepancies on the surface. One of the glasses is a replacement. No care recommendations – caution is advised during cleaning and aggressive chemicals should be avoided.
