Heinz Lilienthal marble mosaic coffee table

Superb coffee table from the 70s by Heinz Lilienthal, a German designer born in Poland. It is composed of a top with a Carrara marble mosaic. The top is entirely handmade. This table is from Lilienthal's Carrara series. Lilienthal creates the top by cutting the marble into small pieces and shaping them in such a way that the round shape of the marble remains intact. Then, the marble pieces are joined with epoxy, and then the entire top is covered with a clear varnish. The advantage of this construction is that the marble is resistant thanks to the epoxy. This makes the top almost always appear to be made of a single piece, as the surface is smooth. An absolute masterpiece! The leg is made of stainless steel and has a typical "four-legged" foot shape. Very good condition. - Overall dimensions - diameter 85 X h 45 cm. Thickness of the top - approximately 5 cm.
