Beautiful large antique carafe in blown transparent and colourless glass, Belle Époque style, French work circa 1900–1930, unsigned. Elegant amphora shape mounted on a short pedestal, with a lovely soft and fine handle. The body is finely engraved with stylised branch/palm motifs typical of French glassworks from the East during the Belle Époque and the early years of Art Deco. The stopper is a cut crystal ball, not original but well-matched. Total height with stopper is 36 cm, 30 cm without (31.5 cm at the top of the handle), approximately 12 cm in diameter, 15 cm maximum width with the handle. Very good overall condition, no chips or cracks, a few small scratches on the body, and micro-chips on the stopper, slight residue at the bottom, a light round imprint above a branch possibly from an old label or engraving wheel mark, discreet defects overall. Weighs approximately 700g.
