This pretty magazine rack in varnished wood, apparently beech, in a scandinavian style was designed by the dutch designer cees braakman (1917-1995) for the pastoe house in the 1960s. A house of which he became the director in succeeding his father after the second world war. Cees braakman was largely inspired by herman miller or the eames couple whom he discovered during a trip to the united states, and from whom he will return with this taste for furniture with simple and refined lines and which adapts to more spacious spaces. Small, apartments and more moves. Once folded, this magazine rack takes up little space. It is made of beech and patinated brass for the two hinges. It is in good general stable and solid condition but has slight traces which testify to its sixty years of use: small marks of abrasion, blows, and on the openwork part, more significant scratches but ultimately not very visible because once the magazine rack is unfolded, this part is inclined downwards (see photo). It measures 45 cm wide, 55 cm high and 29 cm deep.
