Chairs, set of 6 Paolo Buffa chairs by Mario Quarti

Paolo Buffa. Rare set of 6 dining chairs from the 1940s made of walnut. These chairs were produced by the cabinetmaker Mario Quarti, a famous Milanese craftsman who created part of the furniture designed by Paolo Buffa. The chairs feature a sculpted backrest with an interlaced "intrecciato" pattern that gives them elegance and refinement. The seats have been reupholstered in stain-resistant Casal fabric in saffron colour. This rare set of chairs is sold with its certificate of authenticity issued by the archives of Angelo Marelli, the holder of Paolo Buffa's archives. These chairs pair tastefully with marble, glass, or wooden tables. In the photos of this listing, they are presented with a Carlo Scarpa table made of white Carrara marble from the 1970s, which is also available for sale in my Selency shop. Condition report: These chairs are in very good condition considering their age. The seats have been reupholstered. They are stable, and the wood is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina.
