Painted Folk Art Bridal Chest

Beautiful painted bridal chest from germany, small size. The chest is painted in a soft blue color with beige and orange accents. The chest still has the original lock with key. The whole is in a slightly used condition, for example a corner in the bottom has been replaced at some point. In the past it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. These pieces of furniture were later placed in a show room on the farm that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This copy dates from around 1850. 35cm high, 71cm wide, 40cm deep.
