Superb teak and brass sideboard-library, designed in 1963 by Danish designer Peter Løvig Nielsen (1915–1989) and published by Dansk Designs. An architect of modernist Scandinavian furniture, Nielsen was known for functional pieces with precise proportions and refined cabinetmaking details, which are highly sought after today. The set consists of a low sideboard (dimensions: L120 x D45 x H71 cm) and a modular library (dimensions: L120 x D26 x H107 cm), which can be arranged together or separately. When used as a single piece, the furniture reaches total dimensions of L120 x D45 x H178 cm. The library can also be mounted on the wall about twenty centimetres above the sideboard, creating an airy and architectural visual effect (wall fixings to be provided, not included). The legs are distinguished by a dovetail joint, ensuring robustness and artisanal craftsmanship. The warm-toned teak finishes, combined with brass handles, provide a discreet and timeless elegance. The furniture is in very good condition, with only very slight veneer defects, which are barely visible, as shown in the photographs. A rare set, signed and dated on the back, that embodies the golden age of Danish design and brings a strong and refined presence to any contemporary interior or historical design collection.
