Matching pair french antique bronze piano candle sconces dating from the early 1900s. The backplates are shaped and decorated with a scroll and leaf detail. The arms are in a scroll style with acanthus leaf detail and lead to round candle drips which are decorated on the underside.these sconces would have been fixed onto the sides of a piano or organ with candles lit to aid the players light, they can be adjusted easily by opening or closing the arms to suit. The castings and back plates are excellent quality and finely decorated with lots of detail.these unusual candle sconces have a deep aged patina with marks reminiscent with there age. The have been cleaned but left unpolished so you can decide on the finish.
