Large vintage pitcher with trompe l'oeil effect, barrel in glazed stoneware, 1950s

Superb large vintage 1950s pitcher in glazed stoneware, shaped in a rustic and warm spirit. Its so-called "barrel" decoration, with a trompe l'oeil effect, its vertical grooves and its square handle make it a piece full of character, with old-world charm. With its beautiful capacity, it can be used on a country table as well as holding a bouquet of dried or seasonal flowers for a poetic display. Its natural patina and slight irregularities testify to authentic craftsmanship. No indication of brand or provenance Height 18 cm - diameter excluding handle 14 cm, quite heavy.
