Lot of 5 rare earthenware plates of choisy le roi, p&h - décor rébus - xixth. A set of 5 small plates, dessert plates, in the shape of a rebus, printed by transfer in black on a white earthenware body. When solved, the puzzle gives the meaning of a saying or maxim, circa 1854-1920. The rebuses are numbered: here rebus n°8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. They are both decorative and original. Size: Diameter: 20.2 cm. Height edges: 2 cm. Base: 14 cm. Weight of a plate: between 250 and 280 grams. They are marked on the back p&h choisy and numbered. Good general condition. Only one of them has a crack, highlighted on photos n°10 and 11, the others have a beautiful structure that does not have fragility. Slight ginning on the enamel of the rebus plate n°9. Ball aspect.
