Hammond USA Typewriter 1919

Rare! Typewriter from the Hammond brand (USA). Serial number R 223 632. This is a portable multiplex from 1919. The first semi-visible typewriter, its keyboard consists of 3 rows of keys (QWERTY keyboard) with characters on interchangeable circular segments (2 are offered here) which are attached to the central wheel. On this model, the paper rolls up into the rear cylinder as the text is typed. Machine sold as is. It does not currently work, but it is restorable. The original cover is missing.
