A sure bet in contemporary design. Contemporary elegance and architectural mastery unite in this SIGN 457 armchair, an iconic model of Italian contract furniture, designed in 2007 by Daniele Lo Scalzo Moscheri for Pedrali, a leading name in Italian design since 1963, and awarded the same year with the “Top Chair - Residential” prize for the purity of its design and the rigor of its execution. Following the post-minimalist trend of the 2000s/2010s, the model combines a highly structured geometry—two closed side legs forming the base, armrests, and backrests—with generous upholstery that defines high-end hotel comfort. The sloping angles and trapezoidal profile recall neo-brutalist aesthetics, while the interplay of solid and void in the side frames evokes the structural explorations of late Italian modernism. The frame is made of solid oak, carefully sanded before being stained wenge (a warm, ebony-brown color), a rare finish compared to the more common bleached oak or natural walnut options. The seat and backrest, upholstered in a light gray heathered wool-polyamide fabric, are fully removable and rest on a molded high-resilience polyurethane foam core, supported by crisscrossed elastic webbing – ensuring lasting elasticity. The underside is protected by a technical fabric screen-printed with “PEDRALI - Made in Italy, ” a feature found only on the brand's original products. - Dimensions (cm): 78 (H) X 59.5 (W) X 63 (D) X 46.5 (seat height) X 69.5 (armrest height to the front of the upholstery). Weight: 8.8 kg. Origin & Period: Italy, 2007. General Condition: New.
