Piece signed "Drillon" incised under the base: it is the work of Marc and Nicole Drillon, potters active in the Faubourg des Poteries in Puisaye during the years 1950-1955, a region renowned for its stoneware tradition (alongside workshops like those of the Lerats or Norbert Pierlot). The brown-eggplant glaze with satin reflections, the stylisation of the plumage, and the narrative detail of the prey in the claws testify to a true sculptor's work, beyond the usual simple utilitarian production of this workshop (jugs, teapots).
