Bent Severin for Holmegaard, Denmark 1958. "Princess" 33-piece glass set, understated and modernist Scandinavian design. Created in 1957 by Danish designer Bent Severin, the "Princess" set is distinguished by its understated lines and its iconic detail: a small drop-shaped air bubble trapped in the stem of each glass. Originally designed for the glassmaker Kastrup Glasværk, it was later produced by Holmegaard, one of the most important Scandinavian glass manufacturers. This model, available for several decades, illustrates Danish expertise in the art of blown glass. Set in very good condition. Note, one water glass has two small dents on the neck (see last image). - 9 water glasses: 21cm. - 4 red wine glasses: 16.5cm. - 12 white wine glasses: 14cm. - 8 port or liqueur glasses: 13cm. Biography: Bent Severin (1925-2012). Danish architect and industrial designer, Bent Severin worked on numerous projects ranging from interior architecture to the creation of utilitarian objects. Collaborating with renowned manufacturers, he was able to combine functionality and aesthetics in his creations. His partnership with Holmegaard gave birth to several models that have become iconic, including the “Princess” service, appreciated for its controlled simplicity and its recognizable visual identity.
