Exceptional Japonese-style armchair by Maison Perret & Vibert, known as Maison des Bambous — France, circa 1890. Maison Conseil H. Bournay was the distributor for Perret Vibert under the armchair. Its architectural structure in bamboo is distinguished by an exceptional sculptural backrest composed of four elongated and curved uprights, finished with naturalistic ornaments in the form of stylised pine cones. The armrests feature the same sculpted finishes, giving the whole a spectacular and particularly original silhouette. The armchair retains a beautiful old patina and a seat upholstered in a black and beige zebra-patterned fabric. Seat height: 43 cm.
