Lips of michelangelo's "david", inspired by a cast from the "brucciani" collection (collection of plaster molds kept in the british museum). Proposed on a marble base, with beautiful natural patina. In good condition with some minimal wear and tear. See detailed photos. Domenico brucciani was born in lucca, italy, in 1815. He moved to london where he founded a casting gallery at covent garden in 1837. Brucciani's business, which was one of the most successful, developed links with the british museum and the south kensington museum. Brucciani died in 1880, although his business continued into the twentieth century.
