Bronze sculpture (50cm) by jean-jacques feuchère representing bernard palissy (exhibited at the salon of 1844). Statue illustrating the ceramist in a dynamic posture, expressing his passion for ceramics. This work pays tribute to palissy's ingenuity and struggle through its scientific and artistic character. Perfect condition. Jean-jacques feuchères (1807-1852) was a 19th-century french sculptor, known for his works influenced by the neoclassical and romantic styles. A student of françois-joseph bosio, he distinguished himself by his technical mastery and his ability to instill movement and emotion in his sculptures. Feuchères produced numerous works, including busts, statues and bas-reliefs. He is particularly recognized for his representations of allegorical and mythological figures. His major works include psyche and cupid and funerary monuments. His sculpture le génie de la mort (exhibited at the salon of 1836) is a striking example of his style, mixing symbolism and sensuality. Bernard palissy (1510-1590) was a french ceramist, potter and scholar of the renaissance, famous for his “rustic figulines”, pieces in enamelled earthenware decorated with naturalist reliefs representing animals (fish, reptiles, crustaceans) and plants. Inspired by nature, he reproduced these elements with great realism, often arranged in aquatic scenes.
