Abstract painting by Vito Montanari, 1990s

Original abstract painting by Italian artist Vito Montanari, (1934–2023) signed by the artist in the back of canvas. Dimensions with frame: 90x100 cm. The composition is built around a compact central form rendered in deep browns, black, white and red, set against a muted earthy background. Expressive brushwork, scratched lines and layered textures create a raw, tactile surface and give the work a strong sense of movement. The painting combines geometric abstraction with gestural, material-driven expression characteristic of Montanari’s work. The restrained palette and heavily worked surface give the composition a distinctly post-war modernist character. Presented in a dark wooden frame and preserved in very good vintage condition.
