Louis XVI style French desk by Maison Léger

A french louis XVI style writing table or desk, in walnut and mahogany mounted in gilt bronze, with an embossed leather top framed in mahogany marquetry, with brass trim around the edge, three drawers with brass fittings and escutcheons, a back finished in marquetry, and resting on tapered legs with decorative gilt bronze accents. The lock plate of the center drawer is signed "mson léger / 28, place des vosges, paris". Maison léger (also known as emile léger & cie) was a french cabinetmaking company. The company participated in many world's fairs where it was awarded a silver medal in 1879 and 1889, which is a testament to the high quality of the pieces made. A 10 cm crack perfectly repairable by a cabinetmaker of the drawer upright photos attached.
