Scandinavian mahogany secretary, 1960s

Mahogany secretary with fall-front writing desk, three large drawers, internal compartments and small drawers. Brass handles. Scandinavian production, 1960. Scandinavian secretary from the 1960s, crafted in mahogany and distinguished by particular attention to the arrangement of the grain. The fall front features a geometric chevron composition, created by setting the wood in different directions, while the three large drawers highlight the vertical figuring of the mahogany. When opened, the fall front becomes a writing surface and reveals an interior fitted with four small drawers, open compartments and a shaped central section. Brass handles and tall tapered legs complete a construction rooted in the Scandinavian furniture tradition of the mid-20th century. Good condition. It may show signs of age.
