A beautifully preserved mahogany and oak gentleman's wardrobe by Compactom Ltd., from London. It features compartments, some with glass doors, drop-down trays, and labelled rails. Opening with two doors, it reveals a fully fitted interior, with original rails and hangers on one side, various shelves on the other, as well as two storage chests at the base of the plinth. All original labels are intact, indicating storage locations for shoes, shirts, underwear, gloves, accessories, pyjamas, etc., as they were used at the time. Original stamp from Compactom and the Royal Corps of Signals. The presence of a White Star Line label indicates that this wardrobe was used as cabin furniture on a liner operating between Liverpool and New York. A unique wardrobe that has travelled and tells a story.
