Majorelle coffee table

Round coffee table signed Majorelle, made of wood, diameter 59 cm, height 58 cm. Model with a double top, featuring a round intermediate top that replicates the same herringbone veneer pattern as the upper top. The table shows a beautiful patina of use: scratches, signs of time, and small visible marks on the surface (please see the photos). Louis Majorelle (1859-1926) is one of the great French cabinetmakers and designers of Art Nouveau, active in Nancy. He is known for his precious wooden furniture with plant-like forms (vines, water lilies, thistles...), combining marquetry, ironwork, and curved lines. His work is now highly sought after by collectors of 1900 furniture.
