Incredible ceramic jug, with a very unique character and a resolutely brutalist aesthetic. The shape is powerful, almost archaic, with its elongated spout and massive handle that give the impression of an instinctive, free gesture. The incised decoration, highlighted in green, evokes an almost primitive, very graphic work, where the material speaks as much as the line. The whole is in very good condition. There are some fading of the green colour in the hollows of the incisions, due to time and the play of the surface, without detracting from the strength of the piece. The signature is present but difficult to decipher, and the work is often placed in the 1950s/60s. A strong, sculptural piece. Not to be missed. Careful shipping.
