Black ash secretary, 1970s

A 1970s graphic highboard in black-stained ash, with the open grain remaining visible beneath the deep finish. A cream band bordered with a brushed aluminium strip runs along the top, and each door is fitted with a round satin metal handle featuring a diamond-point studded pattern, each framing a small splash of orange. In the centre, an open niche lined with the same orange serves as a display shelf and brightens the whole piece. Below, two drop-down doors open to a bar compartment lined with light wood, featuring a central divider. The cabinet rests on a black base with turned legs connected by stretchers. Secretary, bar, and storage all in one piece: a strong and colourful accent for a living room, office, or hallway. Condition. In good vintage condition with signs of age and use. Wear along the edges and corners, revealing lighter wood in places, particularly on the front edges of the cabinet, the shelf of the niche, and one lower corner. The legs and stretchers show scratches and a few small chips, mainly at their base. Light surface scratches and small marks on the fronts and sides, and slight wear to the finish of the handles. The drop-down doors open and are held by their metal hinges. Structurally solid and stable. Height: 135 cm. Depth: 35 cm. Length: 120 cm.
