Vase made in carstens tönnieshof factory. The rough surface of the object is decorated with a characteristic fat lava technique, which is based on using a thick glaze with an appearance and structure similar to solidified lava. This type of glaze was often used by german artists and manufacturers of art pottery. West german ceramic art is known for its varied forms and distinctive colors. Vase is in original condition and has some minor damage as seen in the picture.
