Set of three "Campanula" lounge chairs in pink velvet by Carlo Pagano for Arflex, Italy, 1952. Set of three "Campanula" lounge chairs designed by Carlo Pagano and produced by Arflex in Italy, 1952. These chairs are a beautiful example of post-war Italian design, featuring a sculptural shell, soft curves, and slender black metal legs with brass tips. The combination of velvet upholstery and the lightweight metal structure gives them an elegant and airy presence. The warm pink velvet is in overall good vintage condition. One chair has a small frayed area at the back, but once placed against a wall, it is barely visible. Reupholstery can be arranged upon request. The metal and brass are in perfect condition, as is the construction of the chair. They are also quite heavy for their size. Dimensions: H 80 cm, W 55 cm, D 55 cm, SH 45 cm. Worldwide shipping available. Carlo Pagano was part of the generation of Italian designers working with Arflex during the company's most experimental years. Founded in 1947, Arflex pioneered the use of new upholstery techniques and collaborated with leading designers of the time. The "Campanula" chair fits perfectly into this context, alongside the works of contemporaries such as Gio Ponti and Marco Zanuso. Dimensions. Width: 58 cm. Height: 75 cm.
