A particularly beautiful vintage valet stand (dressboy) in solid beech, from France and dating from the 1960s. This sculptural clothes stand has a soft, organic silhouette with subtly curved legs and a warm honey-coloured tone. At the top is a wide shaped hanger for a jacket, blouse or shirt. Below it is a horizontal rail for trousers, a belt or scarf, and at the bottom a practical slatted rack for shoes. This makes it not only a decorative object but also a functional addition to a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or guest room. Its lovely design makes this wooden valet stand look almost like a small freestanding sculpture: an elegant, functional piece for anyone who loves authentic wood, calm lines and well-designed objects with character. Beautiful in a mid-century modern interior or one with Scandinavian influences, vintage design, wabi-sabi, Japandi or a warm eclectic interior. Also lovely next to a wardrobe or as a quiet eye-catcher in the corner of a room. Good vintage condition, with light scratches, small cosmetic signs of use and a warm original patina consistent with age and use. Structurally sturdy and stable, the joints are sound; no known repairs or replacements.
