Sculptural Brutalist glass cube pendant light from Kamenický Šenov, Czechoslovakia, dating to the 1970s. The fixture is constructed from substantial molded glass panels arranged into a striking cubic architectural form and secured by chrome-plated metal fittings. Each glass element features a deeply pressed concentric geometric pattern, producing remarkable depth and optical texture. When illuminated, the heavy relief glass captures, refracts and multiplies the light across its faceted surfaces, transforming the pendant into a luminous geometric sculpture. The highly architectural composition reflects the experimental approach to glass and lighting that characterized Czechoslovak design during the postwar period, particularly the important glassmaking tradition centered around Kamenický Šenov. Its combination of monumental pressed glass, repetitive geometry and visible metal construction gives the piece a strong Brutalist character while retaining the exceptional craftsmanship associated with Bohemian glass production. An impressive statement fixture suitable for Brutalist, Mid-Century Modern, Modernist and contemporary interiors. Origin: Kamenický Šenov, Czechoslovakia. Period: 1970s.
