Beautiful plate inspired by the east india company of the qianlong period, eighteenth century, but dating from the mid-nineteenth century. It features a décor of birds, flowers and foliage. It is probably a print. This porcelain is characteristic of the blue family. The qianlong period in china was a period of cultural development. The arrival of porcelain in europe was linked to the development of navigation and international trade. Porcelain was very popular in europe because of its lightness and durability. The import from china is linked to the lack of mastery of this technique by the europeans. French, dutch and british companies from the east indies brought porcelain to europe. With the arrival of napoleon III in power in france, the taste for chinoiserie returned to the 19th century.
