Ceramic wood coffee table CAPRON

Sublime rectangular coffee table by the famous French ceramist Roger Capron. Iconic HERBIER model made in Vallauris in the 1960s-1970s. This piece is a true work of botanical art. It consists of ceramic tiles into which real plants from the Provençal garrigue were pressed before firing. The carbonisation process during firing reveals these remarkably precise fossilised imprints, in shades of brown and sienna earth. The highlights of this example: Authenticity: "R.CAPRON" signature visible in the bottom right corner of the tabletop. Design: Rare solid wood base with a round section, offering an organic and warm line, typical of Mid-Century design. Very good condition. The table has been extremely well maintained. Unlike many models on the market, it shows no chipping, no flaking on the edge tiles (rounded edges), and no cracks. The joints are clean and sound. A timeless centrepiece that fits well in a modern, bohemian, or vintage interior.
