Antique silver-plated candlestick with a baluster shaft H21 D9.5

Antique silver-plated candlestick, probably from the first half of the 20th century. Wide circular base with steps, slender shaft composed of a succession of baluster volumes, and flared bobeche designed to hold a candle. The silhouette reflects the classic shapes of silver and silver-plated candlesticks popular in table arts during the 19th and 20th centuries, featuring a very understated decoration that highlights the proportions and profile of the shaft. The metal has a grey patina, with darker areas, small spots, and signs of use that add texture to the surface. Its classic and minimalist design works particularly well on its own or within a composition of mismatched candlesticks, alongside antique wood, natural linen, ceramics, or a more contemporary table.
