Here is a magnificent trinket dish carved from very hard black stone (marble type) containing numerous fossils, the largest of which is in relief. A little marvel for fossil enthusiasts or anyone looking for an elegant and original trinket dish. The colors range from black to light gray with brown inclusions that have golden highlights. It is also very pleasant to the touch, perfectly smooth throughout. It is believed to originate from Morocco, but it is impossible to know when it was extracted and worked. It is in very good condition, with no cracks or chips, just a tiny, invisible chip on the rim, and an original flaw: a fissure (from the time of extraction or carving?), perfectly "sealed" and completely imperceptible to the touch; it is barely visible and adds to the charm of this object. It measures approximately 23 cm by 17.5 cm, with a height that varies from 1.5 cm at the rim to 3 cm at the level of the ammonite in relief.
