For sale: Sci-Fi vase, designed by Australian designer Marc Newson for the Dutch manufacturer Cor Unum Ceramics & Art, 1993. Brand new piece in its original box in good condition. Printed signature and Cor Unum stamp visible under the piece. The Sci-Fi is one of Marc Newson's most sought-after and iconic creations, now a key figure in global design and collaborator with Jony Ive at Apple. Its organic and futuristic shape, with a wide body in glossy white glazed ceramic and multiple openings, is directly inspired by the Helice floor lamp that Newson designed for Flos, and perfectly embodies the biomorphic space age aesthetic that characterises his early works. The piece was produced in very small series before the bankruptcy of Cor Unum, making it a collectible item of increasing rarity and value in the international market. A comparable white example was sold for $5, 000 at Wright Auctions Chicago. Features: Model: Sci-Fi. Designer: Marc Newson. Publisher: Cor Unum Ceramics & Art, Netherlands. Year: 1993. Dimensions: H 35 cm × W 30 cm × D 26 cm. Material: Glossy white glazed ceramic. Signature and Cor Unum stamp under the piece. New in its original box. Condition: New, no chips or cracks. Original box in good condition. Perfectly complements a contemporary design interior, a collection of signed objects, a gallery, or a characterful apartment.
