La Mamma armchair and ottoman, UP5 and 6, Gaetano Pesce for B&B Italia

Superb set La Mamma or Big Mama, series 2000, composed of the UP5 armchair and its UP6 ottoman. An iconic design created by Gaetano Pesce in 1969, which then created controversy by the message it conveyed about the condition of women: a woman dragging a ball and chained. It was reissued in the 2000s because the first edition contained Freon gas. Entirely reupholstered in Gentle 2 wine-red velvet by Kvadrat.
