Large round ironstone plate from the Faïencerie de Salins-les-Bains, model "Trémières", featuring a floral print in petrol blue on an ivory background. The decoration showcases long stems of hollyhocks, flowers, and buds in an almost Japonese composition. The design occupies a large part of the plate's basin and retains a very fine level of detail. The stamp on the reverse bears the initials "P R" accompanied by the name "Trémières". They can be linked to the Page & Rigal period: Rigal partnered with Page in 1885 to operate the faïencerie of Salins. This partnership ended in 1889, allowing for a reasonable dating of this plate's production to around 1885-1889. In particularly remarkable condition for a piece approximately 140 years old, with a very fresh and bright decoration, showing only very discreet signs of age and small imperfections inherent to antique faïence (see photos). Diameter 30.5 cm. An ironstone piece nearly 140 years old, where the petrol blue and large hollyhocks seem surprisingly contemporary.
